‘Tis the season to Flea

One of the things I loved and miss about living in Brooklyn was the Brooklyn Flea and Artists and Fleas.  Always great places to find local artists, handmade goods, and vintage items. These types of open market shopping experiences have been increasing in popularity recently and are especially great around the holidays! I am happy to report that if you’d like to do the Flea scene in NJ you now have a couple opportunities to do so in the Cranford/Westfield area!

The Marketspace at Westfield will be open during the first two consecutive weekends in December. This downtown storefront holiday pop-up will feature a revolving selection of handcrafted wares and high-end gifts. Located at 151 East Broad Street (in the old City Sports building), you will find Handmade bath and body products, jewelry, wreaths and floral arrangements, hand carved wood accessories, greeting cards, etc. Open December 2nd &3rd and December 9th & 10th, 10am-7pm.

And a much loved Cranford yoga studio is back again this year playing host to The Alluem Flea: A Holiday Market.  The Historical Droescher’s Mill will open its doors to local artisans and businesses, including fine art, photography, jewelry, plus handmade soaps, and winter wear. Plus some gifts from downtown Cranford, yummy treats and some wine and spirits to get you in the holiday spirit! That’s Saturday, December 2nd from 1pm to 6pm.

And if you are up for a bit of a drive, check out one of our favorite places for a flea at the Asbury Park Holiday Bazaar. Weekends from Thanksgiving to Christmas you will find hundreds of amazing regional artists, vendors, and local shops selling the cutest and coolest vintage, handmade, art, jewelry, home goods, foodstuffs, and more. Plus there’s photos with Santa, live music, hot toddies, a toy & coat drive, plus kids crafts & holiday workshops. Full schedule and vendor line up can be found here.

Happy flea-ing!
